oh christmas tree

A couple days after we got home from Boise for Thanksgiving, we decided to get our Christmas tree for FHE.

I had decorated the house for Christmas the day before we left for Boise, so that we could come home to a fun, decorated house. 

Coming home to that definitely threw us into the Christmas spirit, and we were all excited to finish off the house decorations with a fresh Christmas tree.

We went to a local nursery here on Main Street, that has great trees that seem to last a long time.
We all piled out of the car, and the kids eyes got huge as we walked around the tree lot looking at all of the trees. 

It was so fun to see the excitement in the kids.  They all gave their opinion on the tree we should get, and they all agreed that we picked the perfect tree.

They had barrels with fire in them for people to warm up by, and they also gave us free hot chocolate.
It made it more of an experience to buy the tree, and I loved it.

The older kids collected fallen branches from the ground and brought them home to make their own Christmas trees with to put in their room.  It is exactly what I did as a kid.  It was so cute!

We had a really fun and magical little outing getting our tree, and decorating it that evening.

Definitely my favorite decoration and tradition for sure.
