tis the season

Tis the season for parties.

First up was Ben's work party.  It was just for the team, so I wasn't there, but I got to see some funny pictures.  It was an ugly sweater party.  I think Ben looked mighty ravishing.
that is a cat on his sweater

And then it was on to a couple's only "ugly something" party, up at a friends cabin.  I decided to make my hair into a Christmas tree.  I wish the picture had turned out better.  By the time I took the picture, the party was over, and we had just arrived home.  The star on top had blown away in the wind.  My hair was green, and complete with blinking lights.

The party was a lot of fun.  We ate yummy food, and played a bunch of Minute To Win It Games.  There were 11 couples there, all of them are good friends.  Of course, the party got a little out of control, but oh my, memories were made, and about 100 inside jokes were created.

This is how Ben looked.
The dude he is hugging, with the creepy serial killer mustache, is a friend of ours.  I have no comment on the origin of the picture.  Let's just say  I got 23 texts in one hour today, full of comments about this particular moment at the party.

And here is the crazy group.  We sure do love these people, and are very blessed with great friends.

Tonight was our ward party.
It was breakfast for dinner and we could wear our pajamas.
Santa came to visit at the end!
Luke could not get enough of him, and begged and begged to snuggle on his big comfortable lap over and over again.  William, on the other hand, was too tired, and decided not to visit this particular Santa.  He already saw one during Thanksgiving, so he figured that Santa already knows what he wants.
It was really nice to only wait about 30 minutes this year to see Santa.  Last year, with our primary of over 200 kids, we literally waited for over an hour!   It was crazy!

We have another Christmas Party this week, with some more friends, and we also will be having Mary's Birthday Party!

I love this time of year.  Friends and family are what it's all about.  I am so grateful that we are blessed with an abundance of both.
