And So It Remains

I went in to get my under eye mole removed today. I was pretty excited and nervous as well.
The doctor decided that the cut would have to be deep enough to require stitches, and he didn't feel comfortable doing that so close to my eye, so he referred me to a plastic surgeon. He didn't want to make a big scar that would pull my eyelid down and make me look pretty silly. I am glad he was willing to admit that to me. I was dissapointed though.
DANG!!!!

The mole remains. Oh well, at least Ben thinks it is somehow attractive. I will give the plastic surgeon a call later.

On the up side, he gave me some medication to CURE my cold sores! I get them when I get really stressed or when the weather changes. So, of course, I have one right now. They are so big and nasty, and they stick around forever. I hate them, and I rarely use the word hate. I have had them ever since grade school, and I get about 8-10 of them a year. They have been a plague to me. I am so excited to possibly never have one again. YYYEEESSSS!!!!!

So not all was in vain.

please tell me what that blessing of a medicine is called!!!!!! I went to Mexico and got a really bad sunburn, and had huge cold sores in each corner of my mouth, and now I get them all of the time it seems! I hate them with a passion too :-) They are always so ugly and make YOU feel so ugly!!! We hope you guys are doing well! :-) Miss you!

Keep us posted. Hope that gets resolved soon for you. By the way, I love the pictures of your little Will. What a doll! I wish I could come visit. Sorry that I haven't chatted with you for awhile either. Life has been crazy! You are such a great mom and I can't wait to see that gorgeous little one!

I assume the cold sore medication is Acyclovir. My mom takes it (and applies the topical version, Denavir) whenever she gets cold sores. Matt said that you can take Acyclovir every day forever and you're not supposed to get a cold sore. But you've got to be VERY careful not to ever miss a day because then you'll get the worst cold sore(s) of your life.

At least that's what he's been taught in dental school. We just use Denavir whenever we get cold sores, and it seems to help a lot, though it doesn't make the sores go away automatically.

I hate cold sores. I feel your pain.

Ugh!! I know what you mean, I get them a lot, too. They are so uncomfortable and unsightly. I think valtrex is the same one I use. By the way, I don't see your mole in the pictures, well, except for the one up close. You're beautiful.
